Party at the Pumpkin Patch
Saturday the 20th we went to our friend Walker's 1st birthday party at Deanna Rose Farms, and we had a great time. It was Emily's first trip to the pumpkin patch too!

Meeting Great Aunt Sheila and Cousin Madison
My dad's sister and her granddaughter came into town from Georgia for a vist - and they stopped by last night to meet Emily. Emily was a bit shy when they first arrived, but she eventually loosend up (as you can tell by the pictures).
Madison is 11 years old, and before coming for the visit had already decided that wants to adopt from China when she's older. After playing with Emilia - she tried to steal her!!! ROFL
It was great seeing Aunt Sheila and meeting Madison. Madison is adorable girl - and we'll have to make a visit to Georgia in the future so Emmy can meet the rest of the cousins.

We have had a week that I hope we don't repeat anytime soon. The poor little thing has been sick for over a week and I feel so bad for her. Fever, a nose that will NOT stop running - and now her poor little chest is congested. She has been a good sport about it - but the cabin fever has definately set in. We haven't been out of the house since last Friday (she's ventured out on the deck a couple times for a few minutes) but yesterday I layered her up and she ventured out in the yard for a few minutes. Got some great pictures and great videos.

One show turns into NINE!!
On a previous post, I mentioned that Garth is coming to KC. It was to be "One Show - One Night".....well, that one night has turned into nine!!! (November 5th-12th & the 14th)
Tickets went on sale this past Saturday at 10:00 am - and it was total Garth Mania in KC. Tickets were going so fast on Ticketmaster that by 10:01 I couldn't get tickets. I was so frustrated - but Garth called into Q104 a couple days earlier and told people to sit tight - he'd do everything possible to make sure people got tickets. Well, I sat in front of my computer for almost 2 hours trying to get tickets watching as the shows were added.....and it finally happened. SCORE!!!
I'll be going to nights one and two....and if I could - I'd go to all 9. I'm so excited though to be seeing him on the first night. He is going to be so jazzed - it's going to be crazy!!!!

9/30/07 Nextel Cup Race - Kansas Speedway
John and I had a great time at the race on Sunday the 30th. We stayed for the whole event - through the rain, the rain delays, and the finish that I was NOT happy about. My boy (Tony) wrecked (thanks a lot Kurt) and I was so upset. Obviously, not as upset as Tony (if you saw the footage on tv - LOL).
We were 7 rows from the track - I didn't wear my ear plugs (smart)....and I paid for it. I had a hard time hearing for the next couple days!! :) Here's a sampling of the action:
Steven Curtis Chapman Concert 9/28/07
On Friday the 29th - John, Emily & I went to see Steve Curtis Chapman in concert over in Raytown. He had Bethany Dillon and Sanctus Real with him, and it was a great show!!
Steven and his family are very involved in adoption and supporting orphans. The Chapman family includes 3 little Chinese girls - and they were with him (along with the rest of the family). The little girls are adorable, hysterical, and I bet they keep Steve and his wife hopping. LOL

SAD DAY - HAPPY DAY
SAD NEWS FIRST: Today is a day I've been waiting a long time for - Becks was coming to KC with the LA Galaxy!!! I had in my hands the "Golden Ticket" (which means I have/had seats right behind the Galaxy bench), and now that ticket is not so "Golden".
I knew he wasn't going to play (because of his injured knee), but I was holding out hope that he would at least warm the bench - but that's not going to happen. David's father had a heart attack yesterday, and he went back home to London to be with him....which of course if the right thing to do. My prayers are with the Beckham family for a healthy and speedy recovery. Get better Daddy Beckham!!!
So --- I'll just have to renew my season tickets and try again next year. :)

I'M SOOOOOO EXCITED!!!!
Rascal Flatts are coming back to KC this year (actually - 1 month from today) and I got my tickets a couple weeks ago. We'll be up front (fan club tickets)....and yes I'll be dragging John along again this year---LOL!!!
Well....for the BIG news....today I found out that I get to meet them!!!!
To say I'm totally siked would be an understatement. :)

Tah Dah!!! All caught up finally!!!
To family and friends - I'm sorry it's taken me so long to get back to blogging.....but we're baaaack!!! :)
And to show you just how up to date we are around here now, this picture was taken just today. Emmy rockin' the piggies!!! LOL
I found a cool program that makes slides and that's what I've done to catch up so you can see what we've been up to the past few months and so you can see just how much our little girl is changing.
I go back and look at the older pictures quite often - and I can't believe how fast she is growing. She gets more beautiful every day - and we thank GOD for her every day.
I can't imagine our lives without her.
I hope you enjoy a little catching up (ok - a lot!!) and I promise to do better. My next task is to try and get some videos up on the site. Keep your fingers crossed. :)

Rock the Light VIII Day 1 (8/31/07)
Labor day weekend John and I went to the Midwest's largest Christian festival at Starlight Theatre and had an awesome time!!!
Every artist we saw on Friday night was great, and if you ever get a chance to see Chris Tomlin live.....DO IT!!! It will be a time of worship you won't soon forget.
